Veduta supports artists in connecting their practice to the city. In shared spaces, art reaches new audiences and perspectives. Art has the power to show what could be otherwise, to question dominant narratives and let new stories circulate. That is why we put art forward as a connecting and critical force in a city that is constantly in motion.
We do this through trajectories in which we guide artists to enter shared space with their practice. Together, we explore connection and exchange with the public space, its users, and its history. We work towards artistic experiments and accessible public moments, reflecting on the city and its changes.
History
Veduta grew out of more than ten years of voluntary engagement in the bottom-up cultural field of Brussels and Leuven. During that time, Veduta and its predecessors (GROEF and Moodprint Invites) realized over fifty public events, in collaboration with more than thirty partners and one hundred artists. Our public events often take the form of a fusion of various art forms: visual arts, theatre, music, performance, and literature.
