Ayala Istas (°2000) is an art historian and artist’s assistant with a background in gallery operations, art collection management and archive management. Her research focuses primarily on post-war Belgian visual art, gallery history and the contemporary commercial art scene. She values the clear communication of art-related information to a wide audience, something she applied in her work as a gallery assistant and guide.
Since 2019, she has been mentoring young artists as they take their first steps in the art world and has also worked as a logistics coordinator for artists, galleries and collectors. She is currently overseeing the day-to-day running of an artist’s studio. She enjoys working in environments where research and practice intersect.
